Terms of service & refund policy

What you're purchasing

Protobrief sells fixed-fee planning and documentation engagements. Each package lists exactly what is delivered. We produce strategy and specification documents; we do not develop, build, or maintain software as part of these packages.

What you own

Every deliverable is yours. On full payment, you own the documents we produce for you and may use them however you like — including handing them to any developer, agency, freelancer, or AI coding tool. There is no lock-in and no further obligation to us.

Confidentiality

We treat your idea and any materials you share as confidential and do not share them with third parties. We will sign a mutual NDA on request, before you share anything sensitive.

Your responsibilities

Engagements depend on your input. You agree to participate in the discovery session and respond to questions within a reasonable time. Timelines assume reasonably prompt turnaround on your side; delays in providing information will extend delivery dates accordingly.

Refund policy

We want you satisfied with the work, and we would rather fix a problem than keep money for something you did not find valuable.

• Before work begins. If you cancel before your discovery session takes place, you receive a full refund, no questions asked.
• After work begins. Once the discovery session has occurred and research is underway, refunds are prorated based on the work completed to that point.
• After delivery. Once final deliverables have been sent, the engagement is complete and payments are non-refundable. If something in the deliverables is wrong, incomplete, or does not match what your package described, tell us and we will revise it at no cost.

To request a refund or raise a concern, email us and we will respond within one business day.

Revisions

Each package includes reasonable revisions to correct errors, omissions, or anything that does not match the described scope. Substantial changes to direction after delivery — new features, a different target market, a changed business model — fall outside the original scope and are quoted separately.

No guarantee of outcomes

Our deliverables reflect professional analysis and experience, including market research, cost estimates, and projections. They are informed estimates, not guarantees. We cannot guarantee the commercial success of any app, the accuracy of third-party data, or that actual build costs will match projected ranges. Business decisions you make based on our work remain yours.

Not legal or financial advice

Compliance checklists, monetization models, and revenue projections are provided for planning purposes and are not legal, tax, accounting, or investment advice. Consult a qualified professional for your specific situation before acting on them.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from any engagement is limited to the amount you paid for that engagement.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. Prices are in US dollars and are one-time flat fees for the package purchased.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in effect when you purchase governs your engagement.
